IA leap of Faith to Latin America
The Backpacking begins

In December 2018, I won a flight to Latin America, which felt like a sign from the universe. I had no rigid plan but knew I wanted to explore teaching yoga and volunteering in environments that support women. I traveled through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Costa Rica, and as I went from one country to the next, I started to feel less and less drawn to returning home. But I had no clear idea of what to do instead, and I was slowly running out of money after nine months of travel across nine countries.

Unforeseen Challenges: Embracing the Unknown

I came up with a plan. Every step was thought out—booking a yoga teacher training, flights, accommodations, and signing up for a volunteering project. But as much as I tried to control how my trip would unfold, it didn’t happen as planned. In Costa Rica, I was bitten by a stray dog and was unable to walk for three weeks. The wound became infected, and during my recovery, my yoga teacher training was unexpectedly canceled. The flights I had booked no longer made sense, but I couldn’t cancel them. At that moment, all I could do was accept that life, or perhaps a higher power, was guiding me somewhere else. I booked a new yoga training in Guatemala, and this led me to a country I never planned to visit. There, I spent seven months completing my Vinyasa and Yin Yoga training, with Yin Yoga becoming one of my favorite offerings to share.

Trusting the Process: The Path to Energy Coaching

In 2019, while in Guatemala, I met a woman who became a close friend. She frequently spoke about her coaching sessions, and I became curious. In November 2019, I decided to book a session with her coach, which set in motion a life-changing journey. By December 2024, I am still working with the same coach, and the growth I’ve experienced has been profound. When the pandemic began in 2020, I found myself at another crossroads. Despite the advice to return to Germany, I decided to take a leap of faith and stayed in Mexico, traveling with no clear plan. Through unexpected encounters, like meeting a hostel manager who offered me a place to stay in exchange for teaching German, I found support during a challenging period. This led to a steady second source of income teaching German language classes supporting my digital, nomadic freedom.

A Dream before Tulum

November 2020 brought another challenge when a dental crown fell out, forcing me to spend much of my savings on an expensive dental procedure. I spent a week on antibiotics feeling miserable physically and mentally, because I spent another big amount of my savings.
One night I had a dream about a mysterious, unknown woman standing next to my bed. I woke up and painted her, asking myself what she meant to tell me. I wrote the words next to the painting: You are not alone. That came out of nowhere seemingly. She reassured me to keep traveling.
A week later, I left Cancun for Tulum, where I found a place of deep personal exploration. Today, Tulum remains a place where I continue to uncover the gifts I can share with others. My uncertainty, surrender, and trust has now led me to energy coaching, where I support others in their own transformative journeys.
